As the leader is news branding and audience engagement, Troika was called on by Nexstar to launch WGN America’s new national news broadcast, NewsNation—the first national news launch since CNN.

The goal of NewsNation was to provide an unbiased opinion in a news landscape that was seen as politically skewed one way or the other. The news would also be sourced at the local level by the many Nexstar affiliates, and curated through the broadcast headquarters at WGN America in Chicago. It was a revolutionary concept in broadcast news.

Troika was part of the launch team from the very beginning, participating in development workshops in Chicago even as the concept was still being developed. We began by crafting the communications strategy followed by an ad sales road show, then the early tease spots, channel packaging, and finally the launch campaign, helping to make it one of the most talked about news launches in decades.
