Our challenge was to develop the positioning and brand identity for Time Warner Cable SportsNet & Time Warner Cable Deportes – America’s first Spanish-language RSN and the new homes of the Lakers, Galaxy, and Sparks.
We developed an identity that leverages the strength of the Time Warner Cable brand and the rich history of the Lakers. All creative execution is rooted in the network’s brand position “Soul Access” – a play on words referring to the networks’ exclusive partnership with the Lakers, Galaxy, and Sparks, and the in-depth access SportsNet & Deportes offers fans to connect with their favorite players and teams.
Brand design began with the networks’ logos, which aims to build on the equity of Time Warner Cable. The Lakers game package features rich, 3D graphics and custom shot images of Lakers, Galaxy, and Sparks players to deliver an elevated game experience for fans.
SportsNet & Deportes’ promotional toolkits and music packages were built to give each network a distinct voice, yet stay unified under a cohesive brand identity.
Special Presentation elements were built to reflect the network’s premium content. An insert system was developed around home team colors and iconography.
Packaging was delivered for the networks’ signature studio shows. Digital assets were also delivered, including website design and social media branding.
