Our challenge was to develop an identity for the new TV home of the Dodgers that captures the spirit and excitement of Dodger Stadium and brings fans into the experience to get them inspired for the game. Build from the creative foundation of Time Warner Cable SportsNet – the Lakers channel featuring a brand strategy and identity also created by Troika – to establish a cohesive visual experience across both networks.
Rooted in baseball-centric imagery, the game package leverages the iconic stadium architecture as a backbone to the identity – the entrance, the pavilion, the outfield scoreboard.
Additional abstractions of grass, wood, chalk, and lights provide depth to the visual language, and Dodgers imagery runs throughout the elements, bringing an insider, home-network advantage to the team and to viewers.
Insert elements are strategically designed to inform and entertain, doing a wide variety of business and communication within a small footprint. The goal was to add to the viewing experience without taking away from the game itself.
